My experience includes 16 years involved in the design and construction of the power and substations built in the lower South Island of New Zealand during the 1970’s and early 1980’s. This has been followed by 28 years as Director and Chief Electrical Engineer of MacLeod & Associates (NZ) Ltd. During this period MacLeod & Associates have carried out a diverse range of projects from major building services projects to working as team members on the Automation of the Waitaki Group of Power Stations.
I have enjoyed all my projects as they involve people and new ideas but two that are of significant interest are the restoration of the Dunedin Railway Station and the electrical design of the 13 Berth Container Port at Miri in Sarawak, Borneo. I enjoy the concepts in electrical engineering, the changes in technology that have taken place over the years and the diverse range of people that I have been involved with. The hustle, bustle and banter of the construction industry and the solving of problems keep my interest alive.

Over the last 10 years I have gained invaluable experience working in the medical industry designing and producing medical equipment and recently working in the electrical switchgear manufacturing environment particularly focusing on the draughting and sales/marketing of MV and LV switchgear as well as miniature substations and generators which we manufactured for various industries throughout South Africa.
I am a passionate hard worker who is all about the small details as well as a team player who will go the extra mile. I have been working for MacLeod & Associates (NZ) Ltd since 2018 and during this time, I have grown both personally and professionally. My first job with MacLeod’s was the GWD Toyota showroom in Alexandra; I really enjoyed being involved in the electrical design, my skills set and knowledge was enhanced and I look forward to future projects and their challenges.

I first got into the construction industry working as a labourer / welder for Gas Co & Pipeline directly after high school. I was involved in the installation of LPG sites around New Zealand amongst many other projects including residential and commercial plumbing and gas fitting. This experience, I feel, gives me a grounding and insight into the construction industry as a whole.
Currently, I am in my last year of mechanical engineering at Otago Polytechnic and work at MacLeod & Associates (NZ) Ltd part time. I am eager to join the team of well-rounded individual’s full-time at the end of 2019 and proceed into more challenges and problem solving tasks heading into 2020. I enjoy my work at MacLeod & Associates (NZ) LTD working with individual people with new ideas and look forward to progressing and expanding my knowledge within the industry.

As well as working 7 years as an Electrical Draughtswoman with the NZED, I also worked for 13 years as a consultant for Delta Utility Services on a wide variety of projects. My wide and valued experience gave me the hunger to help clients directly with our own engineering company by producing electrical building services design and drawings of the highest quality to help our clients.
I really enjoy my work and meeting the wide variety of people involved in a project. We have a great team who enjoy the design challenge and problem solving involved in all our projects which really helps with the dynamic we try to foster in our company.
I am most proud of the work we provided to Otago Region Correction Facility where the 600+ shop drawings were integral to the project being successful.

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering (University of Sistan & Baluchestan) 2004 Assessed as equivalent to level 7 in mechanical engineering by NZQA.
I have been involved in mechanical and hydraulics building services design and commissioning since 2004. This has included commercial, residential and educational projects where I carried out design and alterations to HVAC systems pipes, ducts and equipment, analyzing heating and cooling loads and monitoring the installation of systems to ensure that work is carried out according to plans and specifications. I enjoy the design challenge and keeping myself up to date with the latest technologies in these areas.
I believe that the opportunity to work in two completely different countries with different infrastructures, resources and weather conditions has given me invaluable experience to be able to handle unexpected challenges. The three factors I have always cared about in my professional life are the customer, the environment and my co-workers and I am pleased to work in a company which shares the same values as mine. I really enjoy my work, especially when I can be creative and inventive.
